HDCL - HIGH DISTRIBUTION COST LEVY

HDCL is the short term for High Distribution Cost Levy. This is a levy imposed by the government to offset the costs incurred in supplying electricity to remote areas of the UK. This levy is charged to every electricity supplier and is charged on a “pence per kWh” basis.

HDCL rates for the period 1st April 2009 to 31st March 2010 are 0.016224 p/kWh. These are set rates and charged to all Gazprom M&T Retail customers. The rates are reviewed by the National Grid every year.
